thanks Kortsman, fortunately my girlfriend works at kee action sports a paintball company, and knows eric and his dog, lady well. i am planning on going to see him sat. hopefully he can help me get set up, and out in the woods more, if not i maybe should get better hunting with firearms.lol. pm sent HeavyD
I had a Bear Whitetail when I was 14.
Eric is good people. He will either get you set up or get you in a better bow. That bow is about as old school as you can get
Eric is a genuine person, and he got me hitting the target. First, we put on a peep sight , a stabilizer some limb savers and string silencers to help with vibration and noise, then he put on a loop and sold me on a release, and now i am confident that i can go into the woods and take a shot. However i am going to see Eric again soon, as i am in need of a better rest and sight. After that I think i will be ready. Will be a challenge shooting out of the stand as i am 6'3 and 253, but i will figure it out.
Wow! The arrowhead guys didn't put a peep sight in when they replaced your string? No wonder you weren't hitting anything. Were you finger shooting too? Glad to hear he got you set up.
If you want a suggestion on a rest, I'd go with a whisker biscuit. I know a lot of people bash them, but there's no chance of the arrow falling out and it really doesn't slow your arrow down "that much". I shoot one and it's been great for me.
Kortsman I went back to Log Cabin last night. Whisker Biscuit installed, and a vital gear sight installed. Yeah those guys at arrowhead were just terrible. I guess because I did not know anything about bows and bowhunting they figured they could put one over on me. Problem being i knew a little more than they thought from reading and t.v. Yes i was finger shooting, and i was not even finger shooting right. After Eric told me how to finger shoot properly I was fine, then i decided to try the release, even better. Now with the new rest and sights practice is all I need. I will be hitting Green Swamp, sat 15 for my first bow hunt and am very excited about the chance to hunt more game.
