that is the bad thing with my lease being 6 hours away. i would like to get up there more often. run out of time last trip. still had a couple more trees i wanted to cut down. but, my local guy up there will be planting tommorrow for me. can't wait to see what them food plots look like. my wife is so pissed, been on the phone daily with him, checking the weather forecast about when to plant, farmer's almanac. checking moon phases for the weekends i plan to go. driving her nuts :clap: :clap:
My dad's leaving Thursday for GA, will come back Monday. He plans 3 full days of mowing, tractoring, planting, bushhogging, firebreaking, stand-setting, limb-cutting, and deer scouting! I want to go with him so bad it hurts, but I gotta work. The consulting job I've been doing for the last few weeks has been good for the wallet, and now they want me to come to work for them full-time. So this year will be hard to get time off before the holidays to go hunting, but next year I'll be ready, willing, and able to afford it! :thumbs up:
Yeah, almost caught up on my bills for the first time in over a year. What's weird is I worked my :ahole: off for months trying to keep enough work coming in to make a living. Then I get this consulting job, where I'm working 8-10 hours day M-F, and suddenly I'm getting all these people calling me wanting me to work on their websites. Freaking feast or famine syndrome. I'm able to do a few freelance jobs, but it feels funny turning down work.
So, I hope to be buying a good bow and be ready to throw some sticks around next season. I'll need some advice on what to get, since I have no idea what I need as far as draw length, sights, arrows, etc. I have no idea which bows are good buys, and which to avoid. Only compound I ever shot is this old Bear Whitetail a friend gave me about 13 years ago. We went and did some target practice twice, spent two days on a WMA near Panama City without seeing a thing, and since then the bow has stayed in my closet!
