I don't shoot BP so forgive me if this is an obvious answer. Why would dry firing a BP revolver hurt the trigger or firing pin?

My bad, I shouldn't type just before bed. I should have said the hammer. Dry firing leaves a ring indent on the hammer. It's not too deep, I think people don't realize how hard the hammer drop is on these.

Little known small Italian company Pierino Ruschetta. They mainly made shotguns. Not much info on them.

Dry fireing will mash the leading edge of the nipple causing a bad fit of the cap which could lead to more than one chamber going off at a time. (AKA chain fire)
Talk about something that will leave a stain in your shorts.
A cap that fits the nipples are a must.
Here are my babies, A Colt Navy .36 and a Colt Dragoon .44 The dragoon is a fun shooter 50gr of 3F under a .457 round ball.
