Day 1 is down.
What a great event. There were soooo many amazing works of art here on display and we could touch and hold just about all of them. Some of the best builders in the country were here and everybody was just as nice and friendly as could be.
I spent a bit more than I'd hoped on Day 1 but I got a good haul and I'm looking forward to the seminars over the next few days...

How much does a flintlock kit run? I have always wanted to build one
Depends on what you are looking for.....
Cheap foriegn made ones are a few hundred dollars.
Top of the line, all American made, hand forged stuff can run $900 or so....
Wood is the expensive piece. There's just so many variables that affect the price. Then the barrel. Expect a couple hundred for an American barrel.
Then about $125 or so for a good American lock....
Everything else can be haggled, scrounged, or built by you so it varies in cost.
The Chambers Kit in the picture was around $900 but that with some upgrades in wood and hardware. Plus. They are the best and you pay for it.
Now before ya'll shit over $900 for a piece of wood and there's no barrel in the picture...
The barrel is being mailed and the stock is a VERY nice piece of walnut that has had a lot of work already done to it.
All the hardware is in the little plastic bags. It's worth it, though. Trust me. With patience and more patience your $900 will turn into a something your kids aren't even going to want to sell when your dead...LOL!
