O.K. who's going out and where in this cold mon and tues, I'll be at chazz this am and hopefully tue also. now I regret selling off alot of my cold weather clothes, luckily found some heat packs, but they gotta be at least 7-8 yrs old, hope they still work. good luck to all.
I hunted green swamp Monday morning....bout froze to death. I thought I was going to see something for sure.....I heard a lot of animal movement but I was in some pretty thick crap, so I can't see far at all. Took the girlfriend with me.....she was absolutely miserable....haha
I hunted chazz mon and tue , didn't see anything. heard mvt only. but it was a real pleasure not having to deal with skeeters, and not too windy until after 10 am or so. if I could have picked the weather thats what I would have chose.sitting in the fresh air with a nice rifle and thermos of coffee, happy as a pig in shit. only thing missing was some game.
I'm heading out tomorrow night. I might try Citrus this time, because like I said before Chass is beat to death. Call me if you want to go. I am going to change things up and bring out a rifle and put away the Omega for the rest of the season.
I used the 270wsm today, a little bigger than the mdl 7 but a nice view thru the scope for longer shots. walked along the property line fence, ground was soft and covered with pine needles and real quiet, nice area to set up a stand for future use. think I must have pushed something out ahead of me cuz I heard shots on the other side of the field shortly after I reached the trail on the way out. the wifes gotme tied up for the hollidays, maybe 12/26 you know where, are you down for that am
