All I had was my 20g single shot (my small game gun) and didn't have one chambered! By the time I got the buckshot loaded, they had run off into the thick stuff and got away... So close!!!

Fast forward to today, I went out by myself hoping to run into them again. No dice! I had a few squirrels at point blank range, but I didn't shoot cause I wanted to find the hogs. Went home empty handed... Took a quick nap and then headed back out around 4 today.
I was set on coming home with something... 2 squirrels made the mistake of showing themselves. The 20g barked and down went the squirrels...
As I was driving out I look over in the freshly mowed field and see a 40lb hog. I jump out and load some buckshot and get within 20 yards.. By this time it was about 2 minutes after legal shooting light and I could barely see a black hog. I almost shot but didn't want to take a chance on getting a ticket for shooting after dark... So close!!!
